Notes | Nestled in the Clare Valley’s Stanley Flat region, is Calcannia. 130km due north of Adelaide, and 6km north of the township of Clare, beside the Hutt River and the Clare Valley Racecourse. It’s moderate-continental climate enjoys cool nights and long warm summer days, retaining crisp acidity, balance and structure in our wines. This Clare Valley fruit was carefully harvested in the early morning to retain delicate varietal expression. Once fermentation was complete the wine was transferred to French and American oak hogsheads to mature for two years.Tasting Note: Dark purple with red hues. Blackberry and blueberry bramble with spice and elegant oak. This medium bodied wine displays black cherry, raspberry and strawberry compote with medium tannins and soft acid providing length and balance to the wine.
